Missing Truck.... Complete Lack of Common Sense
9:41 p.m. - 2003-10-26

The first week up in Gainsville, Jamie went home on the tuesday morning I think (time scales are a little blurry at the moment) and he returned on the thursday. When he left lakeland it was about 2:00 p.m, which meant he should be no later then 5:00 p.m arriving. Well, needless to say we are talking about the guy who isn't even sure if cities are considered states. Provinces would do that boy in for certain. Amy and I waited at the Ronald McDonald house for what seemed like forever. Finally just after 8 he called from the hospital in a panic. So I evaluated the situation. Amy is nervous, after his call. She is rushing around like someone has set her shoe laces on fire. Nope, I think I will set this little visit out. So I remained back at the house, which was fine, plenty of really nice, fun folks there to hang out with.

About an hour or so later, in walk Amy and Jamie. You could tell something is wrong, very wrong. I was on the phone in the downstairs lil phone room and they came in screaming at one another. Amy turns to me and exclaims that Jamie in his infinite wisdom has lost his truck. Yes, I know that begs the question to be asked, how does a person lose their truck? Well, I don't know but I suspect if stupidity was against the law , that boy would be doing a life sentence in prision. He doesn't remember where he parked it. No clue whatsoever, cept it is in a tow away zone, and parked near a tree and in front of a building. Let me tell you that is not a lot to go on, as all parking that is not in the hospital parking garage is in fact a tow away zone, and mostly all parking spaces are in front of buildings and there is trees everywhere.

So off the three of us go in the van in search of his truck. He swears up and down that it must be on this certain street. Well it was not on that street, I went over every parking space on a whole street. We go back to the RM house and call the towing company, no they dont have it. We call the sheriff's non emergency number and no they don't have it. Jamie wants to report it stolen now. What a stupid fuck. So I tell him to do whatever he has to do but if he reports it stolen, pretend like he doesn't know me. Why? Well I don't want to hear the inevitable conversation that would go something like this : Sheriff : Where was your truck stolen from? Jamie: Uhhh I don't know? Sheriff: You don't know????

He decided after much persausion from me to wait til morning and go back to the hospital and retrace his steps. Lo and behold he found his vechile. Parked a long way from the street that he swore it was on, and with a $20 parking ticket on it. Which he bitched endlessly about.

Everyone in the house had a great laugh about his obvious proof of being the idiot some village is sadly missing. He kept trying to tell all of us that it was all Amys fault becuase he was in a rush to see her. That did not go over well. We all snapped at him that blaming his utter fucking stupidity on Amy was lame. Which upset him to no end and he exclaimed that his Mother would in fact see how this incident was all Amys fault and understand him. Which resulted in much hilarious laughter by all listening including me. One woman, Denise turned and asked him "Are you your mothers son?" and he said "Yes, ofcourse, why would you think I was adopted?"

Amy kept begging him to shut up because he was making a total ass of himself. But that particular night everyone had a great time at his expense. After all it is not every day that you run across someone who can lose their own truck. The beauty of it was most the comments that were past and conversation that ensued at his expense was totally oblivious to him. After this night there no one who knew about it, wondered again where Tink got her congenital brain defect from.

Why in the world Amy stays with him is beyond me, and pisses me off with her.

Last night Tink took 37 cc's from a bottle! Her first bottle feeding and she did great.

Today, Joan and Bob drove over and had supper here. Joan has hurt the tendons in her groin/leg & hip. Which means that for the first time ever that she has been to my home she could not take over the kitchen. That was great, I hate when she is in my kitchen, I dunno why either as I hate to cook. But I hate it even more when she is in there acting all high and mighty about it. So today I was able to prove to her that I am fully capable of putting a whole meal together and getting it to the table without her help. Yay go me. Their visit was pleasant, cept since they were here that meant so was idiot. But even he was well behaved and kept his personality in check.

Tomorrow I start back to classes. For some reason I am not looking forward to it. I am so behind it isn't even funny. And normally I would enjoy the challenge, but right now it just makes me very tired to think about. I need to give myself a swift kick in the ass and change this attitude.
